Values toward Martial Arts Victory

Martial arts refer to the various methods of training for combat which are based on traditions and even philosophies of a certain belief. There are many forms of martial arts including Kung Fu, Judo, Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Tai Chi, Kendo, Aikido, Jujitsu, and lots more. Each has their own unique history which often is associated with spiritual significance.

Some say that the practice of martial arts does not only hone the physical fighting skills but also one’s whole being. This is because of the fact that complete success on one form of martial art requires the practitioner to apply an ethical value or two. These values are what you really need to experience victory in any form of martial arts. Persistence alone to master the art is already a value learned along the process.

In different forms of the art, distinct ethical values are focused on. But the most essential morals can be learned from each form in general.

Every person has that one desire to excel in something. We dream to become successful in a certain field such as martial arts for some. In order to make this possible, the first value we have to have is persistence. Persistence is the constant determination of a person to accomplish something. Side by side with persistence is faith in oneself. When you believe in yourself, everything you dream about is most likely to happen. Believing that you can take the trophy cup home makes you one step closer to making it possible.

Humility is another important value you need to fully conquer martial arts. How is humility significant to this practice? Like in any other field, you have to accept that you have lots to learn about. This alone is a form of humility.

The practice of martial arts is a way of interacting and building relationships with people. You would not excel in the art alone, you have to build and maintain good relationships with the people around you. So as to achieve this, respect and courtesy should be shown to everyone, including those outside the practice.

When you are getting closer to victory, or when you are finally holding a martial arts trophy or martial arts awards in your arm, the value you should never forget is gratefulness. You are not alone in every journey so it is important to be appreciative of those who helped you along the way.
